This dress came out so nicely! It is a one of a kind piece (though there is also a skirt in the same fabric).
The fabric is a lovely dark plum (I am not a fan of purple, but this is a very flattering shade) with narrow stripes that form a larger stripe pattern. It also has a very subtle herringbone texture in the purple, and the fabric has a soft, crisp hand.
Lined in black cotton, the dress has a hidden side pocket, side zipper, shirred elastic back and ruched detail at the neckline. It is trimmed in black gimp....I think I am going to add a row between the skirt and ruffle too.
I book matched the stripes in the front...to me it looks much more professional that way, I hate mis-matched stripes!
This dress is a small or extra small and is shown over one of my hand made extra puffy petticoats, it could also be worn without a petti for everyday wear or with a thinner petti for a more classic look.
