This is a photo I took last Fall, its been pretty dry up until this week, so this Falls mushrooms haven't come up quite yet here.
These beauties pop up every Fall and I love seeing them! They are so pretty. There was actually a complete fairy ring of them, but unfortunately it was interrupted on one side by a chain link fence, which spoiled the effect.
More yummy cute-ness:

We get all kinds of mushrooms up here. We went out mushroom hunting for chanterelles last weekend but unfortunately came up empty. It was too dry and now it is too wet.
We had gone up in the woods looking after I found clusters of false chanterelles growing nearby (which should be an indicator that the edible variety would be growing).
Now its starting to get cold, which would put an end to any that might be hiding.
This fairy ring hasn't even shown its self again this year, the ground is too swamped where they had been growing!
Yes, they are; and they are poisonous. They may or may not cause death every time, but they can cause severe illness and mushroom poisoning can lead to the need for an organ transplant.
There are yellow ones too Apparently they can cause hallucinations, but it's because you're poisonned -__-; I think they're less deadly than Amanita phalloides though.
